Kristjan Knigge (1972) was born in Denmark and brought up in the film business. When deciding on his college education he turned away from the film business and went to Birmingham University to study languages. However, 5 months later he started working for GTV, the universities independent television network. He soon took the career decision to drop out and pursue film professionally, first in London and for the past 15 years in Amsterdam. Kristjan has worked professionally all over the world: camera crew, art department, production manager, electrical unit, grip, special effects, editing and 1st Assistant Director. In 2004 he took the plunge and decided to direct. To date he has made short films, commercials, corporates music videos and a full length documentary. Since the summer of 2007 he has joined Gr8 Films as a director.
