Brigit Hillenius finished her studies at the Dutch Film academy in 1987. Since then she has been working in the fields of documentary and fiction.
Brigit wrote and directed the documentary Zintuigen zijn de voetjes van de ziel and co-directed the musical Bolletjes blues!. As a cinematographer she shot Paula van der Oest's De nieuwe moeder en De trip van Teetje, both of which won several awards. She has also contributed to various other productions for film and tv. In 2006 she won a Silver Bear in Berlin for the short Vet!
